Aloha Friday is one of the best, most celebrated days of the week. For many of us, it is the start of an epic Hawaiian vacation. Some it can be the start of that weekend project. For others, it is a time to leave your worries at work and enjoy your time off. It is the day we have been working for all week.
So, the question is that comes up from time to time is, “when is Aloha Friday”? Is Aloha Friday a holiday? Is Aloha Friday a certain day of the month that is better than others? Is Aloha Friday only dedicated to the time you are leaving on your Hawaiian Vacation?
Well, I am glad you asked. It is time to figure it out but more importantly, why is Aloha Friday so important to us here at Hawaiian Island Clothing.
When is Aloha Friday?
The technical answer to this question is rather straightforward. It is any Friday. We get 52 chances to celebrate Aloha Friday every year. It is the day that most of us look forward to all week. Aloha Friday is the kickoff for the weekend.
When Does Aloha Friday Start?
The answer to this question is not as straightforward because there are a few times when, in my opinion, Aloha Friday starts early. So, let’s take a look at a few reasons when Aloha Friday starts early.
You are heading to the airport for your Hawaiian Vacation
You lucky dog, you are getting ready to travel to Hawaii and on your way to get lei’d on a Friday. Many people travel to Hawaii on basically any day of the week. So, if you are lucky enough to be heading to the Islands for an epic adventure, you can say that your Aloha Friday has come early.
You play hooky from work or school
Ok, one of my favorite things to do is take an extra day off from work. Just like many of you, I have taken that “sick day” or played hooky from school to start that Aloha Friday a little bit early. This is something that we sometimes need to do. That early or unexpected Aloha Friday is a great thing.
The mid-week Aloha Friday
OK, this one is for the nurses, first responders, and those weekend warriors. Not everyone has the standard Monday through Friday, nearly one-third of Americans work on the weekend. There are thousands of people that work the weekend. So, if you are one of the weekend warriors, you can celebrate Aloha Friday whenever you can get away from work. I will allow it.
So, when is this magical day? Well, it depends on your circumstance. In my eyes, Aloha Friday can be celebrated just about any time. It is more of a way to say goodbye to the work week and hello to your weekend.
Why We Celebrate Aloha Friday
